Description
A narrow cobblestone street is lined with historic buildings, featuring ornate Gothic architecture and detailed stone carvings. Pedestrians holding umbrellas walk beneath the Famous Bridge in the Barcelona Gothic Quarter that connects the buildings overhead.
The marble Pont del Bisbe (Bishop’s Bridge), though it seems old, was built for the Barcelona International Exposition in 1929.
You'll notice some parallels because it was truly influenced by Venice's Bridge of Sighs.
Joan Rubió I. Bellver, an architect and ardent follower of Antoni Gaudi who contributed to Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, and other projects, was the creator of the neo-Gothic design.
